In today's overflow of extreme sports that are very popular among amateurs, we have to mention one that really requires professionals. Technical deep diving! Such professional technical deep (scuba) divers who successfully completed the course TRIMIX live and work in the Battalion for Special Operations. This is diving at depth of 100 meters and it can pose danger of death if it is not carried out according to strictly defined procedures.
Only the best among the best may take the course for technical deep-sea diver. This was also confirmed by instructor Ante Plančić who, together with his colleague Ante Lukas, trained 5 members of the BSO's Diving company. The course lasted about fifteen days and was carried out in the barracks Kovčanje at Mali Lošinj.
They carried out final diving at the depth of 78 meters and for them it was a specific confirmation of the successfully mastered course. Before that they had two immersions at 55 meters and one at 72 meters during the course. The objective was a wreck of the ship Szent Istvan in Zadar archipelago. They engaged in that "undertaking" with an equipment that weighs almost 100 kilograms, and preparations for diving were lenghty and comprehensive. They were under the sea 15 minutes but emersion from that depth lasted almost an hour and it required of them exceptionally good concentration and psychological stability. After the completed course, they also have to keep in shape and continue with diving because such type of diving needs to be constantly kept in practice by divers.
